I really don't know what the forum is about. That being said, some ideas for its inception were: 1) Discussion between readers 2) Brief answers to reader's questions by author 3) Announcements of TBT chaps/content/China/etc 4) Gossip and conjecture 5) Amusing repartee and corps de plume ..... I'd rather not use to the forum for debate about TBT between myself and any readers; it would be preferable to email me about that stuff because the discussions can get quite lengthy. I respond to all TBT related emails (avg 15-20 per week). As for using reader's suggestions, I have made some slight alterations in TBT, not so much in plot but in error correction. People have emailed to notify the author of needed corrections (i.e.: French phrasing being un-colloquial/gun caliberage being incorrect/Toronto landmarks being misnamed). .... As for plot, TBT plots are usually 60% mapped out before I embark on a particular story arc. Those of you who have read "Godel, Escher, Bach" would have a glimpse of this method at work. .... The latest story arc is a little bit different, because it is quite involved, so there is more spontoneaity at times, not to mention a million details/subplots to leverage and linkage. But in most cases, there is a beginning-middle-end to a 'standard' TBT arc (eg: I already have the next arc worked out, and Keiichi's gonna be in for a ride!). I've learned the hard way that 'people pleasing' reader's interests can ruin a piece of writing; consequently, ideas submitted in the forum (ala the recent Skuld & Tomohisa thread) aren't automatically 'written into' TBT just because they're aired out. Yet, I must also note that they aren't ignored either...many reader's 'intentions' for the direction of TBT are often quite synched with the author's plans (after building a relationship between Skuld and Tomohisa, would it make sense to ignore them for the rest of TBT?). I did request in the forum a while back that I'd be open to reader's suggestions about titles for the storyarc. No one took a stab at naming the storyarcs, but I would still be open to ideas. Such as it is, this is hopefully a slight return to an answer...
